o
Content guidelines are
the same as for posting to the email list:
§ the file content must be specific to Thetford;
§ files posted on other web sites are not allowed
(links to other sites are ok).
o
Only HTML, PDF and JPEG
file formats are allowed (to reduce the risk of infections).
o
Please keep files as
small as practically possible.
o
Your file may be
removed at any time at the discretion of the manager.
§ There’s an overall disk storage limit for the file
sharing area.
§ Larger files and older files will probably be removed
first.
o
Any list subscriber who
can figure out the instructions below may share files.
o
Anybody with a web
browser, subscriber or not, may download the files.
o
Please don’t edit or
delete somebody else’s files. If you
want to propose changes, place a revision of the file in the share area with a
different name or in a new folder.
Instructions for uploading files to the file sharing area

§ click “Request password” in the upper left;
§ follow the instructions and your password will be
emailed to you almost immediately.
o
Click on the “Share
Documents” link.
o
Click on the “Edit
mode” button.
o
Find the box that says
“Upload a file inside the folder
SHARED”.
Click the button labeled “Browse…”
o
Navigate to the file on
your computer’s disk that you want to upload to the share area.
o
Click the button
labeled “Publish”.
o
The time it takes to
upload a file will depend on its size and the speed of your Internet
connection. Your browser may display a
progress bar. When the transfer is
complete, you’ll see the name of the file displayed in the share area.
o
Let people know about your
file:
§ Post a message to the email list with a link to your
file. The easiest way to do that is to
open the file by clicking on it where it appears in the “document” column. Once the file is displayed its URL, or
address, should appear in the “address” box of your web browser. Use the cursor to highlight the address,
then “copy” it. You can create a link
to the file in your posting, simply by pasting the address in the body of your
posting.
§ It would be thoughtful if your posting included
approximate file size.
