You won't want to miss this year's celebration!
The Fabulous Rummage and Book Sale has a reputation all over the Upper Valley! So come early to get in on the great buys! Hidden treasures from the attics of Thetford homes await you at the Antiques and Collectibles Table. You can rejuvenate your spirits with Dennis's yummy grilled hotdogs and hamburgers and ice cold drinks! Relax in the delightful Tea Garden where you can enjoy fresh baked goodies with tea and lemonade in the shade of the old trees on the Hill.  If you don't have time to eat at the Fair you can take home some delicious homemade baked goods and plants for your own Tea Garden.
After that relaxing break, you can stroll over to the Latham Library where you can view a wonderful eclectic exhibit of works by Thetford Artists. While you are there be sure to take in this year's special Historical exhibit focusing on Vermont women. The festive spirit will be energized with music and joyful squeals of children's voices as they join in games on the Green throughout the day. Proceeds for the Thetford Hill Improvement Society and Ladies Benevolent society come from the concessions and the Antiques Appraisal.

Bruce Brower of Norwich Antiques Shop has offered to appraise for us again this year.  So bring your treasure or a picture of it to the Antiques booth along with $5.00 per item. If you have a large item please bring photos of the item as well as any markings the piece has.
Who knows: This could be better than Antiques Road Show!!
With all that fun you surely will be hungry for the delicious Chicken Barbeque includng salads, rolls and dessert put on by The Snow Coasters. Eat at the Fair or take home your meal.  $8.00 per person.
Bring neighbors and friends to this delightful community event.
The more the merrier!!

TA NOTES

Thetford Academy proudly (and very damply) graduated 62 scholars on June 9. Of those students, 57 have plans to further their formal education, choosing learning institutes all over the northern hemisphere: CA,CO,VT, MA, OH, NH, NY, ME, FL, MN, PA, IL, BC, and more.  We wish our graduates a safe and exciting journey as they pass through this next door in life.

Fun Runs continue at TA this summer, every Tuesday at 6:00pm (except July 4). Lace up your sneakers and join you fellow athletes for a dash through the Woods' Trail. Runs are on rain or shine; thunder and lightening are the exception!

TA OPERATION DAY’S WORK received a $900 grant from the Anne Slade Frey Charitable Trust this Spring. The money is in support of sending six high school students and two chaperones to Rwanda - the country chosen by Operation Day's
Work for this year - where they can make a real connection with the Rwandan teenagers they've raised money for. The students will share their experiences with TA, at conferences and with VT Rural Partnership schools. Founded in 1992 by long-time Upper Valley peace activist Anne Slade Frey and a circle of friends, the Anne Slade Frey Charitable Trust was established to promote innovation and creativity in education, the arts, nonviolence, and social justice.  Twice each year since the autumn of 1993 the Trust has awarded a round of grants to individuals and groups involved in projects that are in harmony with the Trust's goals.

THETFORD HILL SUMMER CONCERT AND PERFORMING ARTS SERIES IN FULL SWING
The Thetford Academy Stage Band under the direction of Dan Williams kicked the Summer Concert Season off with a bang! What a spectacular performance these young adults gave the audience. There are more fun filled nights ahead. On July 26 at 6:30 p.m. one of our favorite Barbershop quartets will perform - One Mode of Expression.  This year our final concert will be for the young, old, and everyone in between as you scratch your head to figure out how Marko the Magician pulls off his magic tricks.  This event is on August 24, a great way to end the summer before heading back to school.
